Why Literacy with the ‘Why’ Makes All the Difference
Every job today requires strong literacy skills. To graduate and go on to gainful employment, students must become proficient readers. To accomplish that, kids must give us more engaged time on task. Beable is the first platform that links literacy growth to personal growth and career opportunity based on kids’ strengths and interests. It gives kids their ‘why’ by making clear why literacy unlocks their future.
Beable Creates Personalized Paths to Literacy Proficiency and Gainful Employment
- Gathering information about every student to help them understand their strengths, interests, and values, to foster connections and communication, and to give districts real-time insight into each child’s gaps and needs.
- Enabling students to explore jobs based on their personal and career interests, see the Lexile level required by those jobs, and receive the optimal time on task to reach the level for the jobs they’re most interested in.
- Automatically combining and providing the best methodologies per student, including:
The just-right number of nonfiction reading lessons (differentiated to 10 Lexile levels and available in both English and Spanish).
Targeted scaffolds accompanying each lesson to address skills gaps and provide additional engaged time. Scaffolds use Science of Reading best practices to build background for language comprehension and provide word study for word recognition.
High-interest readings based on self-selected topics for even more engaged time and student agency.
A hybrid online and teacher-led experience using the language of RIASEC to instill a growth mindset.
